How does it work?

Instead, of focusing on the obvious disadvantages of smoking, the Easyway method focuses on beating the reasons why smokers continue to smoke.

Be smoke free in just one day

Using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking method works in the opposite way to the “willpower methods.” We don’t concentrate on the reasons you shouldn’t smoke: the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers already know all that, smokers are smokers, not fools.

And, for most smokers, just a single day is all it takes to complete this quit smoking process.

What about nicotine withdrawal?

It’s the excuse so many of us use; “I can’t beat my smoking habit, it’s too strong.”

What smokers suffer when they try to give up and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch. Allen Carr’s Easyway Method removes this feeling of deprivation.

The Allen Carr Method removes the need and desire to smoke while you smoke. Once you’re in the right frame of mind and they follow our simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

And, what more:

  • there are no bad cigarette withdrawal pangs
  • it’s instantaneous and easy
  • it’s equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers
  • you need not gain weight
  • you’ll not miss smoking
  • most of our clients are referrals from previous clients who are now happily non-smoking

What happens at an Allen Carr Seminar?

Three things we can guarantee:

  • the sessions are low key and non-threatening
  • everyone there has the same apprehensions and the same desires as you do
  • you will leave a non-smoker or you can ask for your money back

A typical Allen Carr Stop Smoking Seminar

Easyway to Stop Smoking sessions:

  • are conducted in small groups
  • last about five hours and are divided into two sections with a 30 minute break halfway
  • are rounded off with 20 minutes of relaxation therapy
  • have smoking breaks until the ritual of your final cigarette shortly before the relaxation therapy.

Section 1

You’ll be made to feel as relaxed and as comfortable as possible. You’ll be given:

  • an overview of the day’s seminar
  • an introduction to the presenter, who is a former smoker who stopped using the Easyway Method
  • an introduction to the background of Allen Carr and the course he developed
  • an individual consultation through the aid of a short questionnaire which you’ll have filled in beforehand
  • an opportunity to express your fears, doubts and concerns so that they can be dealt with

Although most of the talking is done by the presenter and you’ll never be put on the spot or made to feel uncomfortable, the session is interactive.

The rest of the first section is given over to:

  • explaining why smokers smoke. It is impressed that smoking is drug addiction and that the difficulty in stopping is not the physical withdrawal pangs from nicotine, but the feeling of deprivation you may suffer because of the belief that you’re being denied a pleasure or crutch.
  • the challenge to forget about the disadvantages of smoking – the health, the money, the slavery, the social stigma etc. – and focus instead on the other side of the tug-of-war that goes on in your mind. Namely, what does a cigarette do for you?
  • using a combination of positive suggestion, repetition, diagrams, analogies, common sense and logic we enable you to see that all the things you thought the cigarette was doing for you were in fact delusions. In short, we help you understand that the cigarette does nothing for you at all – there’s nothing to give up.

Section 2

In the second section:

  • you’re invited to raise any doubts, disagreements or misunderstandings you may have. These are dealt with in turn
  • you’ll learn why smokers find it so difficult to stop on the willpower method; why you’re never quite sure whether you’re free; why even after years of not smoking some smokers are still yearning for the odd cigarette and why so many get hooked again
  • it’s clarified that the essential problem with the willpower method is that smokers believe they’re making a sacrifice because they’re being deprived with a pleasure or crutch. This is contrasted with the Allen Carr Method which removes this delusion even before stopping, thereby enabling you to be a happy non-smoker right from the moment of putting out your final cigarette
  • we examine the suggestion that we simply “cut down” on our smoking and talk about casual smokers. We talk about why cutting down cannot work and how, although casual smokers do exist, none of them actually enjoy smoking and therefore should not be envied.
  • we build up to the moment you’ve longed for. You’ll be asked to make the decision to smoke your final cigarette-and you’ll get to do it
  • this is a decision you’re invited to make for yourself. It’s a decision you’ll make for purely selfish reasons; because you’re going to enjoy life so much more as a non-smoker
  • instructions will be given on how to deal with the physical withdrawal over the first few days/weeks and how to enjoy being a non-smoker right from that moment and for the rest of your life
  • prior to the relaxation therapy, you and the other brand new ex-smokers in your group will be asked if you have any questions. Chances are by now you’ll be like most the others in your group; in a very positive frame of mind and looking forward to getting out to enjoy life free from the slavery of nicotine addiction
  • there will be 20 minutes of relaxation therapy and a final check that you and the other group members are in the right frame of mind to re-enter the world as a non-smoker.

And, don’t forget, if the need should arise, all you need to do is make contact with your presenter and you’ll receive further counselling and support at no extra cost.

So, what are you waiting for! Book today.

Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking method

Believe it or not, one five-hour seminar is all most people require. A few need follow-up sessions for added support and these are included in your seminar fee.

How the stop smoking clinic works

The seminars are approximately five hours long. They’re usually held in small groups of people. For a minimum of four people, we’ll travel (within the greater Auckland area) to suit your requirements.

Most people require just one session to become happy, confident non-smokers, but if you require them, shorter booster sessions are available and included in the fee.

Using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy we remove the misconceptions, fears and delusions that surround smoking.

We focus on the reasons why you smoke rather than why you shouldn’t. You know the reasons why you should quit smoking already. Talking about the negatives doesn’t help you to stop smoking.

We work on getting you in the right frame of mind to give up smoking. When you’re in that place, all you need do it follow the simple Easyway instructions and you’re free; even the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.

Smoke your final cigarette

Towards the end of the session you and the other clients will smoke your final cigarette before leaving the session as happy non-smokers. Not with a feeling of sacrifice or depression, but with an overwhelming sense of relief and elation that you have finally achieved something you’ve wanted for so long.

Congratulations! Visiting this website is your first step to becoming a happy non-smoker for life. The next step is booking into an Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking seminar.

Easyway versus willpower

“I don’t strong enough willpower to give up smoking.” Have you ever said that? Most smokers have. That’s why we don’t rely on willpower.

The hard way to quit smoking

At Allen Carr’s, we refer to all other methods of quitting smoking as “willpower methods.” The reason is that it doesn’t matter whether you are using pills, nicotine patches, nicotine gum, or some other quit smoking aid, there comes a time when you have to confront the real problem – your desire to smoke. As long as you retain that desire to smoke, you’ll need to use willpower to overcome it.

There are many problems with the willpower approach to overcoming cigarettes. The main one is that smokers feel that they are being deprived of something that gives them pleasure or some benefit. This feeling of deprivation creates tremendous conflict of will; you wish you had never started and you want to quit, but at the same time you’re equally desperate to smoke.

This conflict of will creates the emotional roller coaster and, in many cases, the physical symptoms that smokers associate with quitting. Even people who succeed using willpower often remain anxious, frustrated and bitter. Everyone knows at least one of these ex-smokers, and part of our fear about quitting is that we will end up like them.

The only way to be a truly happy non-smoker is to have absolutely no desire to smoke.

The easier way to quit smoking

Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking method is the only smoking cessation method that removes the desire to smoke while you smoke. By removing the desire, we can remove the conflict. With no conflict, and no desire the whole quitting process is easy and, for many people, extremely enjoyable and empowering.

It’s not about giving you information – it’s about providing the tools for transformation.
